Surprise... another big crash. Vincenzo Nibali was the biggest name but he looks OK.

Terrible weather yet again.

Race finish is gonna be very dangerous. They are taking the time from 3km out, but the stage will be the whole length

Bennati by a hair's width. Funny old finish, that one.

Bennati, Cav, McEwen in that order. PTP points bonanza.

An exceptional performance by have. Managing to take back 9.9999 metres of the 10 metres he handed to Bennati on a plate.
High Road train arrives at the station too early, once again. That didn't help any.

At least the weather forcast is predicting a change from this miserable spell, come Saturday, just in time for the hills.

Why can't Cavendish take a bend to save his life? I keep watching that finish and he should have won this hands down. He was glued to Bennati's wheel coming into the bend and came out 5-6 bike lengths back. Considering he lost by mere millimeters, the conclusion if he could corner would've been bucketloads of asswhupping. He would've taken them by 2 bike lengths.

But man! did he have a finishing kick there or what!

Funny thing is that the cyclingnews coverage today was highlighting how the bend wouldn't suit Bennati as he needs a Cipo-style straight run-up.

In any case, I don't think it was an issue with cornering as such- Cav was wandering around with 500m to go and trying to see the road ahead as if he didn't trust which of the many left-hand turns led into the finish line - TBH, I don't his lead out knew either.

    Hi there.

I think his lead out man (Tony Martin) was still sitting in the ditch back at the 10k to go marker. Wiggins took over the job to keep the bunch strung out, but he's not the man to wind a sprint up. Cav was right to look for another wheel with 500 to go.

My gran could have taken that last corner better though...

    Cheers, Andy

McEwen just doesn't have that extra gear at this Giro. Wonder if he's saving it or if he's still not 100% back from the crash at the TDF.

Look shortly before that as Wiggins is leading him in with Cav in second spot - he keeps craning his head to see up the road around Bradley
