Riding from Brussels or Lille?

Hi I've got a couple of free tickets to use on Eurostar and am gonna take the bikes and go riding for the weekend.
The question is would Brussels or Lille be the best place to base ourselves in order to get out into the country for a couple of day long rides?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm in Lille just now, but also know Brussels
I would recommend Lille, as from here you can get to Roubaix to admire the velodrome, to Ypres and the Menin Gate, if you wish to pay your respects to the WW1 dead, or just head up the Schelde valley into Belgium, where there is some quite good riding to be had.
Bring your own bike, though. I have been trying to hire one here but nobody does that, which is a real shame since I brought my kit with me with a view to doing some of the above on Saturday.0
