"Freeride" and "light" aren't really two words that you can use in the same sentence. Even a lightweight freeride bike will be nudging 35lbs! A full on double bouncer tricked out to withstand big hucks will be 40lbs or more!
Jump bikes aren't much better - even a stripped down single speeder with rigid forks and one brake will be around the 28 - 30lb mark.
And then there's the budget...try trawling round FleaBay if you don't mind second hand, or have a look at the Devinci Ollie 1 from Freeborn (www.freeborn.co.uk) for just over a one-er.0 -
i know they arent light like xc bikes or anything, but ive got a friend with a stinky and one with a trek session 7 and there too bulky, i dont mind the weight as much but it needs to be compact, no more than 160/170 ml fork, for example the spesh sx trail or santa cruz bullit, they have less chunky frames so there easier to throw around than big hits or v10s. sorry for the confusion caused, any suggestions?0
