Ribble...they really have improved, haven't they?

Over the years I've been used to rather, shall we say iffy service from Ribble. However, I've continued to use them just because of their prices.

But, in the last month or two I've noticed that their delivery, which was their achilles heel, has improved ten fold. I've bought 3 items from them in the last month and all items have arrived correct and in order and all have arrived the very next day after ordering. That's better than Wiggle and Chain Reaction.

Well done Ribble!

Don't use CRC often however I have used Wiggle for many years and I have had many, many deliveries. I have had 2 deliveries that weren't next day using their free delivery option and 1 order which had a wrong pick. Returns are always dealt with very quickly. I can't complain about that.

Good to hear this none the less because if my LBS take much longer in getting their stock of Planet X I'll be cancelling my order and getting a Ribble build instead.

Hi, I've also noticed Ribble getting faster delivery. And they've kept prices low. Slightly disappointed that they are not stocking some of the 'outdated' non UT campag stuff, such as the updated Centaur BB, which is only available now in triple format (mine aren't worn out yet, so no reason to switch to UT).

I see no reason to change to UT myself, I've an 06 Centaur with normal BB and 08 Carbon Centaur UT, and I think they've actually decided to put chainrings made of cheese on the new UT stuff.

Unless you're desperate for a bit of carbon, I reckon the older Campag chainset models are better value, better quality, easier to install, easier to maintain, and a hell of a lot cheaper

I forgot to say I have a hate for Ribble's website as it will not display correctly in Firefox which I use. The special edition bikes you cannot access at all as the button just doesn't appear therefore you can't click through to them. The contact us page displays badly and means you can't send a message to them. Very poor in my opinion. Displays fine if you use Internet Explorer but the point is that I should chose my browser and companies should build websites that allow customers to access them irrespective of browser use.

Unfortunately this comment is hi-jacking the thread - apologies: Campag's UT and Shimano's external BB configurations have quite a reputation for being poorly sealed - anecdotal evidence suggests that they let in water readily. Changing bearings on UT is quite tricky, it seems, so I'm staying away from that. As I buy my own kit, I need to believe it offers good value by (at least) lasting a reasonable amount of time - so no UT in my garage. Anyone else not prepared to dish out some hard-earned for the short-lived?
