Any body know any good websites or books about wheel building? I plan to have a go at building my own winter wheels.

Get Roger Musson's E-book from www.wheelpro.co.uk. It's the most practical "how to do it" guide for first-time wheel builders, and excellent value for money. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Sheldon is good. Jobst Brandt's classic book "The Bicycle Wheel" is out of print but available on Amazon secondhand (usually) and is regarded as definitive, although now a bit dated.

Roger is an ace wheel builder, and the jobst book is good, too.
