HI folks.
Long time, no visit this bit of the forum - hope you're all well!
I've put a set of over-size track bars on my fixed, and am looking for a single bmx-style brake lever that I can mount near the centre of the bars, but be able to remove it quickly for racing.
What do you guys recommend? And are there any issues with getting the cable to pull the right amount for a road caliper?
Cheers, Andy

I'm pretty sure I have seen those (or very similar) used for the purpose - but haven't done so myself, so shan't swear to it!d.j.

Thats the sort of thing, Dirty Harry http://www.cyclesportsuk.co.uk/product_ ... ts_id=3796 & Goldfinger are the levers used alot on fixed machines, watch clamp sizes though.0

Cable pull is not a problem at all! I have a dirty harry, nice solid hinged fixture.0

I haven't seen a BMX style lever that would mount on an oversized bar, but I have seen cyclocross in line levers that will.
I do however have slightly unusual alternative to the problem of removing your brake and lever for track riding. Remove the entire bar. If you can't find a lever to suit your bars that will unclamp easilly then you could try replacing the bars whenever you take to the track."Swearing, it turns out, is big and clever" - Jarvis Cocker0 -

Hi there.
Funnily enough, removing the bars is exactly what I have been doing for the last couple of years. I had a pair of cow horns with a single aero lever stuck in the end of one horn. All went well until I managed to snap those bars last week...
I've got a spair pair of cross-top levers lying around somewhere, but I was under the impression that they clamped onto the middle of the cable outer, and relied on the main brake lever to terminate the cable. Would the lever work on it's own?

cross levers work, about 1/3 way down for the pic of the spesh cross-tops. http://www.londonfgss.com/thread3654.html0
