I'm thinking of Cormet de Roseland, Iseran and Petit Bernard especially and 17-22 June. Will they be open and what weather can you typically expect - still very cold or warming daily?
Thanks in advance for any input - especially from Grenoble cycling... :)

Russel in France- On past experience - any chance of them opening soon??
  • It's difficult to say this year as there is still a lot of snow on the high Alps and we haven't had any really warm spells. It must be getting closer to the climbs around 2000 metres to be opened. Raining today so I can't give you an update as I can't see the snow level on the mountains around the city.

There's another site here letting us know that they're still closed.

I think we'll be fine for the majority of the climbs by late June, just the two high ones in the area like the Galibier and Iseran maybe still closed. Usually though by this time, they'll be open.

Thanks Russel. I'll check with teh local tourist Office too nearer the time. Sometimes closed isn't closed to bikes...? I know in 2000 the Aubisque was closed in May but passable in actual fact - just a bit of clearing up with a JCB and a dumper truck.
