Hi, fell of my bike at the skaet park a few nights ago and sustained a few scratches on the uppers of my DJ1's.
The one scratch I am concerned about is about 2" above the dust cap/seal, I have smoothed it slightly with some fine wet n dry.
Are very minor scratches any real worry when they are this high above the dust seal?
Is the actual oil seal further down and more of an internal part?
The dust seal is exactly that, a first seal to keep crud out of the internals?
An exploded view of a Dj type fork would be great........
I have never had a sus fork apart and would like to see how it works without dismantling.

read the topic in the FAQ's on how to sort it.

the oil seal is about 10mm bleow the dust seal. and the bushes start a few mm below that.
