Hey, im looking for a new mid range helmet up to £50 as it will be my first road helmet. I've been looking for a while now and have seen many features like bug nets, more air hole spaces and lightness etc. I've found one the:

Met Estro - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=17692

and the:

Rudy Project Zuma : http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/id41981.html
(Bike radar review here - http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... uma--31027 )

I'm wondering which one should i go for, i've seen many others and have found rudy project kontact being popular, how much better is the zuma that that?

Also are there any other helmets worth looking at which you would say are good for around that price?

Thanks!

The Fit is of most importance - having said that, I quite like the Bell Ghisallo for that money :)

Ah, hadn't read the rest of your post, didn't realise you had already mentioned the Kontact!

I would be surprised if it was there was much differencec between the Zuma and the Kontact, but from having the Kontact, after someone else's recommendation on here, i have to say the quality is superb.

You really do need one which fits your head - is it round, narrow, etc ?
The best helmet will be one which fits securely, fits tightly enough to not slide about loosely but doesn't pinch and give you a headache.
Different manufacturers make helmets which fit different headshapes, so you really need to go and try some on, see whther you have a 'Giro-shaped head', or Bell, Met, etc.

I have a Met-shaped head, I decided. And I broke one, but not my head, last year when some p*llock in a Mercedes knocked me off, so I know they work.
Met Ippogrifo ? Reduced from £50 to £40 (although I got one earlier this year when they were reducing them to £25...)

Or what looks like an end-of-line Strad reduced from £80 to £50 - would be great if it's the right size...
