Never seen a Bionicon in the flesh, have you rode the bike?
What kind of riding do you do?
When you say you’re new to mbk how new do you mean? Is this your first proper bike? If so then perhaps consider spending less and using the cheaper bike to learn skills and find out what kind of riding you’re going to be doing mostly. That way you’re not going to be dropping a large investment into a new hobby! And you can just save the rest of the money until you want to upgrade and your going to have a better idea of what you want!
If your dead set on spending that amount of money, have a look at; Commencal Meta, Gary Fisher HiFi, Specialized Stumpy, Trek Fuel EX. All decent steeds.
Want something a little less common than the Trek's & Specialized of the world? How about Rocky Mountain ETSX <---- Drool or Jamis Dakar? Or indeed the Bionicon you mentioned, although I can’t comment on any of those last three bikes having never ridden any of them. Although I would love to get my hands on an ETSX.0 -
quite a bike for your first bike if thats what it is. there is someone on here with a bionicon willow so they can give you feedback on its unusual suspension set-up.
you might want to consider spending half that on your first bike though. maybe even a hardtail so you can get your skills up to scratch first.0 -
thanks for the reply guys. i am quite litterally new to mbk, the reason for going for a full suss is just because if i didn't i might regret spending out on a hardtail, and also if i did'nt spend that much then the wife would on a handbag or something. I will look at the rocky mountain though, i'm just after something different i suppose. the riding i'll be doing will be around the lakes and just for days out with family so after a little comfort. i used to have a scott g-zero strike ltd and also a klein mantra but didn't use to the max and have always regretted getting rid.0
