Degreaser?

My chain is "crudding" up, and got grains of sand mixed in with it. Am I correct in thinking I need a degreaser to clean it up or just to wash it with the rest of the bike?

You should use a Degreaser ideally as the dirt is sticking to the oil on your cassette muc-off do a good degreaser at a good price0

Degreaser, I use Fenwicks FS1 neat on the drivetrain & FS1 diluted as a bike wash. Top stuff @ £10 a litre of concentrate, which makes up to 11 litres of bike wash.
