Fizz: Doing first ever sportive and longest days ride in one go is a pretty good result for the day especially given the course and the conditions were pretty tough the way the wind was blowing. Like you say you've got a target to aim for next year but for now well done and give yourself a big pat on the back.

Think I'm maybe being a bit hard on myself.

I've felt really drained the last few days, I'm not sleeping well and I've lost my appetite. I tihnk it took alot more out of me emotionally and physically than I realised.

Its not quite my first sportive, I did the 55 mile route on the TOW last year and the 95 this year was just so much tougher than last years ride. I guess its going to be though, just wasnt prepared for the mental challenge of doing it and its left me absoloutely knackered !!!

Hey hey 46th out of only 97 to finish all three days.. according to my mate.. not too shabby for a fatboy who don't like climbing!

Damn.. wish I hadn't stopped for photos, punctured, got lost, skipped breakfast, etc now ;)

@Ricardus. Thanks! I was pleased that the walk around the gorge fitted in with the race's timing. Very impressed by all those who made it - tough mix of sun and rain, and a fair amount of hills.

Thanks for this. Very interesting reading. Sad to hear about the powertap. Mine survived despite me managing to lose its hub cover post battery change end day 1 and having to bodge up a repair with insulating tape and vaseline.

If your head unit is knackered and not covered by warrenty then feel free to PM me. I'm getting a second wheel and dont think option to buy without the head unit exists so may have a spare.

PS: Ok to use your pictures from day 3 for a club report I am writing?

Yeah, I might contact you if I can't fix my CPU with Saris advice.

You can use my pics. Credit "hippy" for them :)

Thanks for pics. I should have mentioned on previous post my Ptap is the SL 2.4 wireless one.

Ah, bugger, mine is wired. Thanks anyway!

Have you had any issue with their freehub bodies? My cassette has buried itself into the soft-looking splines on the freehub.

Strange you should mention that. Had exactly the same problem. Got used to it now and use a chain whip to remove.
