looks like he took quite a nasty knock. will be cool to see how he rides with some painkillers :p

    I can't say I'd be that happy resting on a broken elbow on my aerobars in a TT.

    But then, I wouldn't be keen on hammering up and down the Dolomites with one either...

    Who was the guy that hit that concrete and ended up in a ditch - I couldn't believe they were letting him carry on let alone encouraging him - did he finish the stage because he looked like he couldn't walk unaided and once they had propped him on his bike even turning the cranks looked painful.
    it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

    That was one of one of the CSF Navigare (savinni ?) guys according to Dave Harmon he had to get off about 1/2 a mile up the road. Yea i thought allowing him to get back on bike with his legs in such a mess wasnt the greatest thing for his health to be doing. Though maybe he demanded it and said he would be all right.

    Proof maybe that he maybe was going for the win after all ? I reckon he can forget it now think he will just coast round tommorrow.

    RAI showed the crash, yesterday and Bertie was afterwards signalling he was fine.
    We then saw him with a bandage below his left elbow.
    Either they've cranked the mind-games up, another notch, or it must be a very small break indeed. Otherwise, I doubt he would be able to ride.

    Perhaps he'll just give it a try in the ITT and if he's struggling, there'll be no accusations flying about, if he withdraws. :?

    It's a micro fracture. Nothing displaced or anything like that.

    It'll hurt like heck for a few days I'm sure but think it might be more mindy games.

    agreed, he'll race as long as he can.

    For some of the members here, it is amazing they keep on attacking Astana and Contador. I've never seen that happen against to Slippy, Rabo or HR here, and yet they have beated Astana many times this year....

    With the CSF dude I reckon they were trying to see if he could ride the pain off as sometimes when you jar something a little you can ride the "kink" out.

    I thought it was funny the way some farmer pickles looking guy jumped into the ditch and kinda yanked on his arm to get him up... *ouch*

    Wow, I didn't know his elbow was broken. Really could end up being his defining moment if he perseveres and wins this thing on a broken elbow! :shock:

    I agree that it was appaling when they forced (uh, I mean STRONGLY encouraged) that CSF rider to ride again. Just stupid.

    Are we sure he really broke his elbow, or is this just another cunning ruse to lull Ricco into a false sense of security? Those untrustworthy foreigners going to Italy to steal the race from the Italians... what a cheek!

    Agreed about that idiot who tried to yank Savini out of the ditch... coulda been nasty if he had broken anything.
