My left crank arm worked loose at Cwmcarn yesterday,it tightened back up OK and seemed to stay tight the rest of the way round ,although it played on my mind on the downhill section !

My mate says that once a crank arm has worked loose it must be replaced as it will keep loosening ,is this true as I have been to Cwmcarn a dozen times this year and I have never had any problems before ??

it all depends if there has been any damage to the crank axle interface.

if it now continues to come lose then yes it will need replacing but if it stays tight then it will be fine.

I inspected the axle and the arm when I got home and they seem fine so I will stick with it !

If you're going to stick with it, at least loctite your bolt.
