I tried to look for mine to recommend, couldn't find them but found a bewildering array, I tend to favour something spongey yet rubbery, but the best advice I can offer is to check out what your local bike shop has to offer ask to feel some if necessary, it's quite a personal choice.

That said, are you wearing gloves? If not I seriously recommend spending your money in that direction first, they'll protect your hands on the bike AND after you've come off it!
"Impressive break"

"Thanks...

...I can taste blood"

Specialized make some properly gel type ones with a lump of red on them, its not quite as bad as it sounds. worth a look.

I have just fitted a pair of 'charge sponge' to my Raleigh Record Sprint flat bar conversion, they are really very similar to the odi ruffians and are black grips with nice silver lock on sections on each end etched with 'charge' they look and feel great and bonus they are only £9.99........ great value !!!

Instructions on box are propper fun too 1 to 5 daels with putting onto bike then.......
    6. Place hands on grips, sit on saddle, place one foot on pedal.

    7. Depress the foot on the pedal, you will feel the bike begin to move forward. Once you have gained some forward motion and you feel balanced, place the other foot on the empty pedal.

    8. Countnue to rotate feet like you are riding a bike. Stop when tired.

Magic fun and they are made in the U.K. what more can you want hey... :D:lol::D
Still loving my Carrera Vulcan but also loving my commuter converted Raleigh Record Sprint ooo it's so quick and a great commute hack yippeee get to ride it again in the morning . . . . . can't wait ha ha

    Hi
I have recently purchased a Boardman Comp hybrid for commuting only I am not keen on the handlebar grips - can any of you recommend anything nice and comfortable with good grip etc please?!

    Thanks in advance
I've recently put a pair of Ergon GR2s on my Spesh Sirrus, and I am pretty happy with them; nice range of hand positions on long rides and generally pretty comfy.

    Here they are:

I would recommend any of the Ergo grips. They are a little on the expensive side but they are very good.

These are the ones I have as I have a bar end mirror so I cannot use any with barends.
Cycling is for fun, I'm sure of it

I spent 5-10 minutes fiddling when I fitted them and I've left them like that. I simply adjusted the main grip so that the "wing" at the back supported the heal of my hand nicely, then rotated the bar-end until the various hand positions all felt comfy. Once I'd done that on one side, I tightened the bolt and set the other grip up to mirror the first.

    YMMV, :)
