Hi guys and gals, I ride a 2008 Spesh rockhopper pro.

I Dont like my brakes though there Avid juicy 3's I think. Ive been looking at Hopes Mono Mini's because I had them on the front of my last bike and they were awesome. I think it was the 2004 model I had. Im concerned by the bad reviews though so im considering some others. What are peoples experiences and opinions please?
thanks in advance

nothing wrong with hope brakes. Some people will just spit hate on anything that isn't what they're used to.

I've got Hope Mono Minis and Formula Oros and I'd chose the Oros by a whisker as the better brake.

My Hopes are 2004 so they are from the wobbly rotor/IS mount generation but new Minis are post mount so alignment is easy and I'm told Hope have fixed the wobbly rotor problems.

If you want them, go for it although they will set you back a few quid compared to say the Strokers on Merlin. As S/M says above, carbons for £165 and the Rydes for £130 a pari IIRC. You can spend almost £130 on one end with Hope.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks guys I like the look of the Hayes stroker Rydes on Merlin. Think I might give them a go. Hopes are horrendously expensive comparred to others lol.

Sorry I meant to say Trails, not Rydes.
