Tyres
Yes I know this has been done before ; ) but.....I want a set of training tyres, good puncture resistance being high on the list. The choice at the mo is Specialized All Condition Armadillo Elites, Conti 4000s or Gators, or the Michi Krylion Carbons
Any thoughts ?

Well I have been using Specialized Armadillo's on my Rd bike and totaly puncture free all winter, have a set of Michi Krylion Carbons on a set of borrowed wheels (don't ask) and i have had a puncture within 50 miles of being out..
Had some Schwali Blizzard Sports and they were very poor both in grip and puncture protection...
Just asked in another thread about Spec or Conti's, seems like i will be going back to Specialized...This is why!0 -
I would not use Armadillos for a training bike; just posted on the subject here. They are a good commuter tyre, but grip is very bad. Conti Gatorskins are almost as good as a proper "race" tyre while still having excellent puncture protection (albeit not as good as the Armadillos.)0

Although they don't market them as being an all-weather, puncture resistant tyre, I've always been keen on Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp. By far the fastest, grippiest (especially in the wet) and most comfortable tyre I've used. Miles better than Conti GP3000 and Ultra Sport Kevlar which were cut to shreds within 600-800 miles. Only had a handful of visits from the fairy in the past 5 years too, and all of those from big thorns or pieces of glass that I doubt any tyre could have dealth with. There has also been a Fortezza Quattro Tricomp released which boasts better P protection.0
