Cavendish yelled at him on the line and Bennati punched him on the leg just after. Any idea what he did wrong?
You just have to ride like you never have to breathe again.

I didn't see what he did to Bennati, but he nudged Cav's leadout man (Tony Martin) off Bettini's wheel. Cav's leadout man was quite enthusiastically punching him back off bettini's wheel, but he wouldn't move, so High Road were left out in the wind. I have no idea what Bennati's problem with him was though because when I saw this from the overhead shot, Bennati was quite a few places in front.

Maybe it's simply because he had the audacity to mix it up with the fast boys.

Much as I love Cav, it does annoy me when he gets invovled in stuff like that.

Just get on with it and show them a clean pair of wheels instead of pointing fingers.

Funny how sprinting by a rider from a second-string team simply isn't on while riding one-handed over the line in a bunch sprint while facing backwards and waving your other arm is accepted.

PS - Are Wiggins, Weglius, Millar and the British Ambassador quite tall or is Cav more of the McEwen rather than the the Boonen physique? (see pic about half-way down)

ES usually refer to him as 'compact' which is shorthand for 'short@rse'

Cavendish is a short arse like McEwen, but I also believe Wiggins, Weglius and Millar are pretty tall.

Yep, Millar's about 6' 3 I think. Wegelius also seems to be standing a fair bit closer to the camera than Cav.

The ambassador must be a tall chap. Wonder if he was handing out Fererro Rocher...

I agree.. I thought it was shocking the way the poor rider from CSF got a right rollicking at the end of the race. I say every man to himself to get to the front in a sprint. I cant really see what he did wrong?

So, a Finn, a Maltese, a Manxman, a Belgian, a Welshman, an Englishman and the British Ambassador walk into this bar...

... the Belgian immediately leaves for a haircut, the Maltese gets barred after requesting a 'Tall, dark, skinny, moccachino on the rocks, over ice, after dark, with chocolate" and the Manxman gets into an enormous row with the British Ambassador over who got to the bar first, declaring that while he supports the Ambassadors right to drink, he was getting in the way of the serious pinters.

... and the Finn was barred from all future diplomatic appointments because he was caught handing out Fererro Rocher to the Italians instead of the Brits.
