what would cause the rear wheel on my Gray Fisher Sugar 2 to start wobbling 20 miles after i have had the wheel tightened? This has happened three times now.
Is there anything that can be done to prevent yet another reoccurance?

Wobbling on he bearings do you mean? Or just out of true?
What wheel is it?0 -
it is the rear wheel, and the wheel is in true.
The bearings are known to be slightly worn, but i am told they should see this season out0 -
I mean what make and model of hub/rim etc?
Sounds like whatever it is, could be knackered.0 -
It is a Shimano FH-M525 hub and Mavic 317 Disc rim with Hope Mono mini brakes0

so well wobbles but the rim is true. the wheel has disc brakes but you do not complain about a intermittently rubbing disc. therefor whe hub is not at fault but the wheel build is."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
