Any ideas what it is?

Dear All,
I have just recently bought a second hand Scott MTB, no time to let the guy go so just bought it as I really enjoyed the ride. The lables on the frame it is a 'Scott Bandera' however I have looked for information and even emailed Scott USA direct. They could not locate it and could only say it looks like it is from late 80's early 90's. Dark blue in colour, 19", hard tail, QR wheels etc. Frame states made in China. I also have a number which could be a serial number, any sites where you can check these?
