i have a pair of Brand-X!
some people may look upon me with disgrace, but they work perfectly fine
i have not tried other makes (661) as yet, so they may be slightly more comfortable.
i would suggest trying a set on if thats possible?0 -
i was planning to try some on.
I was thinking of buying these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=25235
Does anybody have a pair? are the any good?0 -
i dont know if its a problem but, they only have two straps (none for your knee) so they may feel abit loose
like u said though its a good idea to try some on0 -
Nice price and they look reasonable quality, but I wouldn't buy them if theree's no knee strap. And that's obviously why they're so cheap.
You're quite likely to come off your bike sideways and land on something that could push the knee section up and go straight into your leg.
I bought the 661 Race knee/shin pads because the Brand X ones were sold out when I needed them.
The 661s are very good and have saved my legs a couple of times already - though you have to take your shoes off to get them on and off.
The other drawback with them (for me) is that they leave much of the back of your leg exposed and vulnerable to cuts from flat pedal pins.0 -
According to my more hardcore mates, the raceface ones are damn good, and they are pretty cool.- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0
