Can you tell me what helmet this is???
Hi,
I have seen a helmet on the internet which I really like and would like to get hold of but have no idea what make and model it is. I have trawled through various websites but can't find out what it is.
Here it is:
Many thanks for any help you can give me.

well I can see from the writing that it is from a Norwegian trade union

and you can get them in boxes of 80 -
it looks very similar to my giro monza, just unbranded!0

Thanks Gunderson, but I rather not have to join the Norwegian Trade Union!0

and thanks mdizzle, I think they are similar but not quite the same.0

If they are very similar then buy the Monza!
Giro are safe in terms of quality, protection for your nut and style!the day I stop dreaming of upgrades is the day die!

I would recommend going to a shop and trying on a few helmets and buying the one that fits your head the best. I don't think buying one blind off the internet is a good idea. A helmet is very much like a pair of shoes. Fit is the most important factor.0

I can see it is very similar but it is not the same. I agree with you that it is right to try the helmet first, but I need to know what it is before I can do that! I like the look of it which is why I want this specific helmet. Obviously if it is a lousy fit I wont get one. I have a Giro Pnumo at the moment so am not in desperate need of a new helmet! Just like this one - think it looks cool!0

Not necessarily........ Giro helmets pass the "EN1078" watered down test for helmets, and refuse to discuss whether they pass higher standards such as Snell b90 or b95 which used to be and still are the toughest tests. He that buys land buys many stones.
He that buys flesh buys many bones.
He that buys eggs buys many shells,
But he that buys good beer buys nothing else.

OK, so if the market leaders - Giro are not that intent on safety, which manufacturers do meet the Snel b90/95?
I am sure that with over half of any peleton, pro or otherwise using Giro lid's they must be OK? I am still using mine after 7 yrs with tape holding it together, although I am thinking it is probably about time to change it as my local descents throw me to speeds of 50mph+...
I am getting a Spiuk
although not sure on their safety rating? Caisse d’Epargne rode them last year so I am sure they will be sufficient for me unless I get my head run over by a Hummveethe day I stop dreaming of upgrades is the day die!

A list of Snell approved helmets can be found here: http://www.smf.org/ but Specialized are the only ones on the list widely available. Consumer Reports did the most thorough test of bike helmets a couple of years ago and the Bell Citi and Slant came out top rated. Specialized Aurora also came out quite well (they were the only three to score Very Good for impact protection, none scored Excellent). A world of advice here: http://www.helmets.org/index.htm
If only any of the recommended ones fitted me properly....FCN 7

I think if people want to talk about the safety requirement of helmets they should start their own thread rather than hijacking mine thank you.
This thread was created to try and identify the helmet in the photo.
Many thanks for the couple of people who did post suggestions.
kind rgds
