Does anyone know of a mobile phone holder that I can attach to my handlebars?

    Kieron,
    Not a good idea matey.
I can guarantee, you will have the phone knicked at the lights or it will bounce of at the first pot hole.
Having your mobile on display and within easy reach makes you a very juicy target. Some people will not be worried about knocking you over to get at your phone. It's the price of thier next "hit" and so makes you and any damage done to you (or more imortantly your bike) worth the conseqences.
Added to that, it's a distraction whilst your on the road!

May be no help but last rucksack I had a pocket on the strap, dead handy and if I wanted to (which I didn't) the headset still reached.

Don't Topeak do a little bag that velcros behing the head to the top tube? Handy for phone, camera, wallet etc...

Sometimes I wish my phonecam was more handy than in the rack-pack! (Mainly the camera part!!)

Have a nice weekend ( in the rain) :?

When I need access to mine I slip it under the leg of my shorts, the leg silicon rings keep it in nicely.

I was considering a bluetooth headset, but I've decided I don't want to look like a w*k*r and/or that bald guy out of star wars.

I keep mine out of sight in the back pack and if it rings I have to stop to get at it, so there is no temptation to talk and ride at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks fellow cyclists, I take on board what you all say, hadn't thought about the dodgy people out there, who might be interested in my mobile phone, I think I'll just stick to keeping it in my pocket.

good call, if you are worried about it falling out (i used to have this problem with my ipod) you can get those silicone cases for them, they are sort of white/clear and make the outside all gripy (this isn't what they are desgined for). they also stop it from getting scratched...

    What about a Boxit?

Obviously it depends what type/ style of phone you have. Can be clipped to outside of backpack, onto belt or even attached to your bars. You can also wear it on the optional arm band. Totally waterproof, it floats and you can still use the phone due to the gore-tex type membrane in the earpiece. I've been using one for about two years now both for commuting and trail riding.

i know i'm perhaps a little old fashioned, and i realise you can't attach this idea to your handlebars, but what about putting it in your pocket ?
Morning route (when i don't get the train)

    Evening route ,
  • Why add the distraction to your cycling?
Heaven forbid, if you miss a call, you can always call back!
And as mentioned why make yourself a target?

My phone goes in my bag, sometimes switched off, if I miss a call what the heck.

I'm interested in a mobile phone mount cos I've just got a Nokia N82 (the one James Cracknell used) and I'd like to see the Sports Tracker display whilst I'm riding. I aint bothered about answering calls - I don't have any friends anyway!

Are there any out there that aren't massive and cumbersome?

This is the sort of thing you might be looking for:-

You just need to buy one of the Krusell cases for your phone and theres loads to choose from. I've had one of the cases for ages and they're really good quality.
