Hi there.
Pretty much once.
If you punctured twice on the same day you _might_ get enough out of the cannister to fill two tyres to 'get you home' pressures, but not fully inflated. Once they're opened they will leak out quickly.

I always pump a little and then top up with co2
that gives me 2 tyres at 110 psi (my norm)Once they're opened they will leak out quickly.0 -
cheers, pretty much conformed my worries, dont really think its worth getting a kit just yet, might be later but for now i think i'll just stick with the pump0

Hi there.
When you go back to it a couple of days after using the cannister for the first time is there still any c02 left? The ones I've used never sealed well enough...

I have a second wind pump that also uses CO2 cartridges and I find there's no leakage of the gas once it's been pierced and screwed onto the pump to seal it. I know that CO2 cartridges can be looked upon as expensive, especially if you blow tubes on a regular basis, but if you do that, don't buy them from your LBS at over £2 a go, search online and buy them from wholesalers. If you're willing to buy in bulk you can get them for about 50p each but taht means buying LOADS so it may be an idea to club together and get them between a few mates. If you don't want to buy that many, search for them on Ebay.1998 Marin Hawk Hill

Is it just me or are the small canisters the same as the ones for soda syphons? If so, maybe an off-licence or home-brew shop could supply in bulk packs at a lower price? I've a Sapo CO2/hand pump (good but on rough ground has a tendency to dislodge itself from the bike - I once lost one somewhere in Chevin Forest Park as a result) but have only used a CO2 canister once as (says he, touching large quantities of wood) I don't get punctures very often, rather than avoiding the CO2 option on cost grounds.

if your doing any sort of distance and cant be arsed with the hassle of pumping up a tyre after riding 60 - 70 miles then deffo get one. There is nothing worse then a puncture ruining your ride / arms / sanity and possibly your day if you have to ride back on a semi inflated tyre.. I got a puncture a few weeks back and only had a hand pump.
I was shattered and in my haste I snapped the valve. Luckilly some other rider behind had a spare tube and a Co2 pump - Really cool guy (thanks if you ever read this ) I was amazed how easy everything was.0
