As seen as the Derwent Dam is just down the road from where i live. I jumped on my MTB this morning to watch the fly-past. Sadly this could well be the last fly-past they do at Derwent.

Fantastic!!
I'd love to have seen that. They had Richard Todd on Radio 5 this afternoon, he was at the flypast as a guest.I'd rather walk than use Shimano0 -
Excellent photos nypd. I saw the feature on the BBC news website and they really put that Lancaster through it paces. Wish I'd known about it, I would have loved to have been there.

I missed the fly past as I on the flight path here in Lincs, not sure what time it came over but I didn't get to see it damn it.
My father flew in a Dakota when he served in the Army so i wanted to see one, apart from the Lancaster and the other planes of course. Excellent pictures btw Astana!!0 -

Great pictures nypd, you do yourself down regarding your talent. Your positioning above the dam looking down on the aircraft is a sign of a pro. Next time you ought to see if you can get your pictures published in the papers/mags etc.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

I'm not yet 40 but do remember the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster every year at Woodford Airshow and it does send a shiver down your spine, I was trying to get there yesterday but couldn't get out of a meeting - wish I had gone looking at those photos0

The pics have potential but are let down by the lack of movement in the shot - usually a case of too high a shutter speed. To capture movement you need to reduce the shutter speed and focus on panning with the subject to get crisp detail but blurred backgrounds and/or moving parts such as wheels etc. Vertical movement from suspension parts can also dramatically add to the sensation of speed

Great shot - focus good, nice pan/motion blur, subject looking into the space in the frame...sweet!0
