Chaps,

as per my last thread re the carbon handebar/stem debate, I'm not wholly convinced that the ebay.com items are completely genuine, as in I had 2 different answers from 2 different sellers, and more importantly, the drop is compact, and I prefer the ones that are styled more like this:

pro-plt-carbon-bar-med.jpg

that have the little contoured section before the flat. Is that useful?

The super cheap Deda's I have are 290g, so I would hope to shave a little off that.

I'm looking for a 40 C-C by the way, or 42 edge to edge.

Any suggestions?

Not getting much inspiration from CRC or Wiggle...

If you want something light and fairly comfortable, Deda Newtons and PlanetX Superlight Oversize Top Anatomic Road Bars are good. I use the PlanetX bars and whilst they do not have a pronounced back curve on the drops, they have a flat section that is comfortable and being triple butted they are light (around 200g IIRC).

Deda 215's. Apparently weigh in at 214 grams and available from Ribble (among others I guess) for only £34. Bargain! Choose between anatomical or classic bend.
Otherwise, Cinelli Vai, 230g and under £20. similar shape to the Dedas.
