TT bike on budget

Focus Tria 2008 and Planet X Stealth both comes in at £1k is there anything else worth considering at this price point? Also, are the Planet X carbon wheels worth the extra £500 or so, especially as I'm not light at 98 or so Kgs? Has anyone ridden the Focus bike (I know there are plenty of stealth fans out there already) just wondered how it compared as the spec looks interesting....

There is a Giant offshoot called RTC (I think). The company is new and owned by a Giant director and frames manufactured in Giant factory. They are 1000eur and superb finish but perhaps a little heavy for all carbon. The finish is more aero than stealth and all housing is internal. Ask local giant dealer

Thanks for the info, sounds interesting. Weight is relatively unimportant for me on a TT bike, whereas aero, stiffnes and position are.

some barely used TT bargains in Cweekly & 220 magazine most weeks/months...

tt bikes get relative light use & i think s.hand is a good option..

Problem is finding one thats exactly your size though, but you are right there are bargains s/hand.

Specialized Transition £1000 on offer from Evans? 105 and Aksiums, though that might not be problem if you are intending to get some Pro Carbon P-Xs aswell.

The blue planet X stealth with the carbon clinchers looks pretty fine at £1500.
