There I was happily trundling through a web page with absolutely no relevance to cycling whatsoever and then from out of a side street came this:-

http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_ ... t_id=34822

SMIDSY said the website as the same old argument starts up again!

Just where do you think the fabrication techniques for CF bikes came from then?

From the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust? Gosh, that's quite possibly a little outside their remit.

    :P

No, I meant to take issue with your assertion that F1 has nothing to do with cycling, the F1 cars being made of CF and all that.

Actually, Nick Heidfeld did miss a few races a couple years back after being hit by a car while training on his bike as I recall.

I see your point, in fact most F1 pilots tend to use the bike as a regular part of their training.
I read an article with Kimi Raikonnen on a bike a few years back and Mark Webber is both a good friend of Lance Armstrong and a keen charity cyclist with his annual Tasmanian challenge thingamajig.

Oh and I hear Alain Prost is a regular at the Etape du Tour too.

these racing drivers (actually, I think I prefer pilot as it really is more fitting!) are fitter than some might expect. Apparently, hooning around corners at 150+ mph with more g force than in a fighter jet is really physically demanding!

Also, you see them cycling round the circuits to get a feel for the inclines and cambers.
Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.
