Discs rub when cornering

I've noticed that when there's a lot of sideways load on the wheels, like cornering fast or leaning the bike over, the discs rub against the brake pads. This is the first bike I've had with discs so I don't know if this is just as "feature" or does it mean something is loose? The bike's only three months old so shouldn't be wearing out yet I hope! service the hubs and makes sure there is no play in the bearings and the Qr's are tight."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Mine does this a little bit, even after Ive re-aligned the calipers. If I cycle in a straight line and 'wiggle' the handlebars I hear a little bit of rubbing.
Ive never really payed any attention to it tbh0 -
when that happened to mine my qr's were ever so slightly loose.0

is it a tinktinktink noise or a brake pad rubbing noise. I only ask as I get the tinktinktink one.My Ride Stumpjumper Expert 20080

The tinktinktink noise is the sound of looming death.
Probably too heavy for the fork/skewer not done up tight enough/play in hub bearings.Shut up. And ride your bike.Originally posted by Jon

Morning forum people , I also have a pair of Reba SLs , which after cornering the discs rub like buggery  . I find it difficult to imagine that every owners wheels (bearings, cones or quick release) are at fault... maybe disc rub is just an inherent problem with this fork model... well that and being a fat ba5t@rd

your wrong there, the tinktinktink noise is usually the disc itself catching the pads, the disc might be slightly bent, find where it touches and push it the opposite way a little untill it stops touching0 -

definately. this is an easy mistake. even just now, my disc was rubbing on my enduro. i thouhgt the hub bearings may be knackered, but was just a loose qr.I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

I had the same problem with my reba SL forks went back to merlin and they faced the brake mounts problem solved your LBS should be able to do it for about £10Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0
