I quite fancy one of these for its mapping capability but also to replace my polar cycle computer as I don't find it very user friendly. The one thing holding me back though is that i don't know if it has an odometer function. I find this function really useful, does anyone know if the Garmin can do this?

Thanks

excellent, can you change it? ie I like to know how many miles my bike has done in total, so can I add my current figure?

    Thanks

You can add that into the training center software that comes with the edge so that you keep a record of your total miles.

If you want to keep a log of all your rides take a look at SportTracks, you can import your ride data from your Garmin into SportTracks.

Just bought the 705. I got the road performance package (£320 from wiggle) Can honestly say its awsome

the screen is fantastic and dead easy to see, the navigating is good enough (you get the road maps in the bundle) and the Hr and cad sensors are a doddle to set up and seem fairly accurate.

Traning centre isnt great but again once you get used to it its fine, just would have been better with a more windows vista style to it and maybe a bit more raz a ma tazz.

There are more functions than you can shake a stick at, so all its all the bike computer you will ever need

(well untill the release a better one that perhaps does the peddaling for you
