i have a specialized hardrock 2007 and need a longer seatpost can anyone recommend one and also a lighter one. how do you measure were to measure to and from for the size. ?
The relevant dimensions are length and diameter.eg 350mm x 30.9mm
I am pretty certain that being a Specialized the diameter you require will be 30.9,but if you pull your existing post out,you will probably find this marked near the bottom of the post.
The length will relate to the length from the base to where the saddle attaches. If you need a lot of post, out to get a comfortable pedalling position, you might find you need 350mm or even 400mm length.Again measure your existing post to find what you need.
Some posts,eg Thomson are available in inline or layback versions.A layback post will increase your reach to the bars, and push back the postion of your leg.feet on the pedals.
