Road frame & forks with disc bosses
I want to build a cheap winter bike to equip with discs, 700c wheels, 10 sp Campy or Shimano, guards.
Any ideas? would consider a second hand flat bar road bike and converting it to drops, not to concerned with geomity eveb if it is a bit hybrid/cross
Not sure if most spesh sirrus frames have bosses?

There are quite a few hybrid / 'cross frames now available with disc bosses - if cost is your consideration, then a hybrid frame is probably going to be the cheapest. If using drop bars, you'll need to use Avid cable discs to work with your road levers. 99.9% of disc hubs are shimano-compatible, so whilst you can run a Campagnolo drivetrain, you'll probably need to hunt around for the right cassette i.e. Shimano-splined, by Campagnolo-spaced. It's also possible to run 700c wheels in a rigid MTB frame - but check geometry to make sure it's suitable - many MTBs have quite long toptubes.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

good point, Shimano now also do a road specific disc and wheel, so shimano are probably better shout.0

Cotic Roadrat now comes in a "drop bar" version. Fully set up to take discs, guards and any other gubbins you want to hnag off it.
Nice ride and handling too.0
