So is that a bagel for all in the PTP or did some genius pick Brutt?

Frohlinger would have been even more impressive... but alas no, 0 for everyone.

A peasant was rushed to hospital to have a Felt removed from his cranium.
"Breaking the Chain" meets "Brutt Force". I guess it just wasn't Millar time.
Bettini says not catching the break was down to him.
Nice, brief coverage from ESUK, too.

Boy, did those last 500 meters look painful! A much-deserved win for Brutt. That bike throw was nice. We should schedule a bike-throwing competition between Riis and Millar.

Riccardo Ricco please take note: THAT'S how you fling a bike in anger, not some kind of girly fling, but a proper discus-style launch. Class.

    Yes! My scores...

    Height and distance 10
    Form 10
    Artistry 10

    A "Perfect 10" throw!

As part-owner of Slipstream, I hope Millar remembers that the cost of a new bike is coming out of his pocket!

Actually if you look at the Helicopter shot from where Millar horses the bike over the barriers there is a guy in a black t-shirt just down the dip........so maybe he did flatten one of the tifosi :-)

What about agression? Surely that should be a factor? And he put a hell of a lot of anger into that throw! You could see him standing in the middle of the road wanting to run after Brutt himself hahaha!

Nice of the organisers to put him at 0.25 even tho it wasn't technically a crash (well, not til the bike landed)

Tell me, how is it possible that after wilnning the TTT, all the Chipotle boys apart from Dave and Vande Velde are 30mins down?

Poor bloke, he could well have won, he was looking smooth and strong. What pedals does he use?

Never mind the pedals, I want to know the offending brand of chain.

"Too Flimsy Chains", made in China, not designed for stamping upon. Probably designed for gear twiddlers.
Millar had calmed down enough to give RAI an interview. He is convinced he would have won and so am I. He was going after Brutt, who was dead on his bike at the line.
Why are Slipstream all eons down? Diliberate lack of dope.

More likely a lack of GC talent. Even if they doped, many of their riders would struggle at this level. Its a tough first week for a GT - usually you don't see this type of sorting out until week 2.

Isn't this the chicken or the egg situation?

As for the Giro itself, apart from the "breakages", it's a typical first week.
Certainly no more difficult than usual.
Talking of which, I'll be interested to see what stage 7 throws up.
This is usually a long, mountaintop climb. slightly different this year; harder overall,
but not quite as tough a finish.

Good technique from DM there. Maybe he's going for the GB Olympic discus squad. That guy has been seriously unlucky over the years.

Anyway, one for the stattos, has there ever been back-to-back GB stage wins in a Grand Tour? It could've been today...

    slightly tougher this year,imo
last year they had a rest day after 3 stages. Tomorrow, the stage has been shortened due to rider tiredness

Certainly a better starting week than most TdF or Vueltas

Yup, they've cut out 34k's,of tomorrow's finishing circuit. Instead, they are holding a bike-putting contest!

    Hi there.

Quick thinking by Millar there - the peleton was coming up quickly and he needed to get his broken bike off the road, who knows what might have happened if that guy in LPR team car wasn't paying attention?

    Cheers, Andy
