Brake hose rubbing badly on frame...any advice?

I've a new Meta 5.5 VIP frame custom build bike with about 20 hrs riding on it, and have just noticed that the rear brake hose (where it rounds the bottom bracket tube) has worn a fairly substantial scar in the downtube.

What's the best protection for this? I was thinking about sticking the 'spongier' side of a bit of self adhesive velcro on the tube under the hose. Would this be a long term solution or is there a better way?

Thanks...

some frame protection tape does well.

Your velcro suggestion sounds quite smart - so long as teh adhesive is strong enough.

A lot of bikers use helicopter tape, a clear protective tape available on ebay and from other online retailers. But that's no good if you need to cover up an unsightly scar!

Halfords (or I guess most bike shops) have clear frame protectors for quite cheap, they've saved my frame and forks from cable rub anyway.

i just bought a roll of clear fablon (sticky backed plastic) for 3 quid
i just cut the size/shape i need and stick it on, i dont think i will ever use it all as its a 2ft by 15ft roll
to cover something up just use a freebie sticker and whack some fablon over it

I use Lizard Skinz carbon leather patches... nice and thick, so wont wear out in a hurry and guessing (cos I'm at work and the bike isn't) I'd say around 30mm x 20mm in size? Pretty cheap and IIRC you get 6 in a pack?

Motorbike tank protector. Just bought an A4 sheet of it for £6.99

Cut it into shape and size I needed and stuck it on my bike in all places where cables/hoses touch frame and still have loads left. Best thing is when you stand back from the bike you can't see it!
