'Wobbly' new XT shadow mech' - Why?

This came on my 2008 MetaXT but I've been having shifting problems since day one. The jockey wheel hanger can be 'wobbled' side to side [perpendicular to the chain] is this normal? All bolts etc are tight..

Any help would be much appreciated.

    the top jockey wheel itself is suposed to move, its a floating wheel so if its that there's nothing wrong with it

    Thanks for the response, it's the hanger and 1/2 the derailleur which has lateral side play....any ideas?

    Can you post a pic to show which bit is wobbling.
