So my previous bike was stolen.
My original bike was a dual suspension with front disc, however only cost £120 so was super heavy and difficult to ride.
I still have a low budget, but want to be a bit more sensible with my buy. Ideally looking under £200, but will stretch. I will be using it for general commuting and occasional leisure off road.
Ive seen a couple and would like advice. Thanks

Saracens got lock out on forks which you'll find useful on tarmac, and Tektro brakes are highly rated for the price.0

The second one is probably more affordable for me, but if its gonna fall apart I'd rather spend the extra to get something a bit more decent.
Is the fork travel important? as both those only have 75mm whereas the previous two were 100mm. is that going to make a huge difference?0 -
SPECIALIZED bike here, bit over budget, but a good deal -

I'd avoid both of those bikes, not cost efficient choices, if you know what I mean
This is a cracking bike (of you can stretch to it): http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yrn_106166
Or the Cape Wrath....
You should test both.0 -

Even get rebound adjustment... nice!0 -
Hmmm, they must have changed the fork on the Vulcan - some have the standard undamped XCR.0

There is a specialized hardrock sport hydraulic disc 07 going on ebay at the mo, is it a good bike? And how much does it normally retail for, cant seem to find it.

Maybe a more commute oriented bike like this would work better for you?

thats a pretty nice bike, if you can pick it up from wherever it is... I would probably go for a specialized or the cape wrath.- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0 -
Prob with the spesh is the weight - nearly 34lbs, and the fork - a pogo stick. I'd say the Kraken is a better bike, even though the Spesh is heavily reduced. Lighter, and better forks, frame and brakes.0
