Vuelta Zerolite wheels

I've had a pair of these for a while now - all in all, a good budget wheel if a little weighty. But the question is; just how weighty? Most retailers claim 1.95kg per pair, not bad in that price range compared to Khamsins or Aksiums, but www.fatbirds.co.uk give a weight for the pair of 2.3kg - so are they wrong and all the others right, or do I have even heavier wheels than I thought!? Currently thinking of replacing them but am on a budget so can't afford anything OTT and super-light, and interested in seeing how much of a weight saving, albeit modest, the specs of prospective new wheelsets give over the old ones.

  • I also have a pair of these. I'd say they ride well for the price but after less than 6 months (winter months) the front bearings needed replacing as the grease and got contaminated with grimey water through the seals. At least the front ones are adjustable cup and cones though so it was a cheap service rather than a replacement.

Not sure about the weight. For a budget wheels set I can't complain about the ride performance at all.

Keep them til they wear out. Most of the weight is probably in the hubs anyhow :)
