    I think you will find that the increased rolling resistance due to deflated tyres prevents the bike from 'running away'.
    Having said that, it doesnt really explain the 'slashing' element - presumably this is just an example of mindless violence and is totally unnecessary.

    Surely if you are going to partake in consensual frottage with a bicycle then it would be more of a turn on for the bike to have its tyres slowly and lovingly deflated rather than slashed?

    "CONFUSED"? Yeah, right. I'm often confused, but I have yet to mistake a bicycle for a woman - or indeed vice (sic) versa. I rather think that it's the slashing bit that should have got him committed as in "danger to others".
