Allez 2005 Double - Which brake pads?
Hi there,
I'm doing the Etape Caledonia next week and have been advised by a friend that my bike needs new brake pads. I thought this would be a simple matter of searching online for cartridge brake pads, but there's a bewildering amount available and I don't know what's suitable for my Allez. :?
Can anyone recommend a good set of brake pads that will be compatible with my bike? I ride in the rain quite a lot (staying in Scotland this isn't very surprising) so I'm after something suitable for mixed conditions.
Thanks!
Dave

If you buy blocks rather than pads, you can buy whatever you can find. Having said that, I think I would prefer to stick to the cartridge type. You bike probably has Tektro brakes. I imagine that these are Shimano compatible. Don't know what kind though.
I just replaced the blocks on my wife's bike with a Weinmann Aquastop up front and Kool Stop rears. They work so much better than the Shimano Altus pads they replaced. I heartily recommend Kool Stop0 -
Thanks for the tip - got a set of Kool Stop pads on their way now!0
