How on Earth did he end up so far from his bike?0
-
I missed what happened but they just took him away on a stretcher!0
-
Didn't look as if he had any serious injuries, but still terrible luck. Hopefully he won't be off the bike for too long.0
-
It looked like a rib. Or two,or three.
Such a grand mustache going to waste....0 -

has anyone got the eurosport audio feed to work? i am currently watching in norweigan!!!0

I'm perfecting my Scandinavian languages as well. Just open up a start list in a browser an be your own commentator. Browse the Giro news around the web and you'll know all the stuff Harmon would be telling you anyways.0

How about Iglinsky (astana) as a dark horse to win today? He did well in the uphill sprints at the end of the Romandie stages. This one is longer but he did well on the mountain stage so that shouldnt be a problem. In fact the length of the climb should be too much for most of the sprinters.0
-
I think Pelizotti is the dark horse today. A win would put him in pink (if there's time bonuses). It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

He was my PTP pick, so I hope so. I think it depends how hard the last little climb is - usually in Italy they're much steeper than they look on the stage graphic. Remember that stage of T-A earlier this year when most of the riders climbed off and walked over the line? :shock:0 -
You could do worse than wager on Pelizotti today. Any of the punchy Italians looking for stages could do it today. I wouldn't have named Iglisnky if asked, but it makes sense. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Ricco have a go this early.
What and attrocious kit CSF Group Navigare have!0 -
Haha. I just turned on with about 1k to go and couldn't work out why there just rolled towards the line as a bunch. Didn't realise today finished on a circuit. :oops:0

Carnage at the finish. Time gaps everywhere. I love the Giro!
Franco P 4th... the worst place to be0 -
Fook me that was a nasty ass climb at the end.
I was right about Pelizotti in pink. By one second. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -
Who's the mafia don they're talking to on RAI?It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

Glad I'm not stuck with Eurosport.
Just checked their schedules to find they have no live coverage AT ALL of the PLAN DE CORONES ITT. I find this amazing, especially after David Harmon's comments regarding scheduling for important events.
According to their site, for the final week's mountain stages, cycling has been shoved onto ES2 and live coverage is halved. This is to allow unbroken coverage of Roland Garros clay court tennis. How the other half live, huh?"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
I didn't get to see today's stage as I was in work. However I have just been reading about Dave Z's injury. Having just recovered from exactly the same thing (not from cycling however) and just wanted to say I hope he gets better soon. I feel his pain.
P.S. I'm sure he'll be very rested for the TdF, he'll be watching it from a very comfy couch.0 -
Soler lost a fair bit in the final. I wouldn't have thought he'd have an issue with the hill.
As for LPR - Has Di Luca switched to use Savoldelli's prepatore?Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Yeah Soler lost 54 seconds. Karpets lost 1 minute 19 seconds.0

What happened to him? He crashed apparently with Contador??0 -
That was some sick riding by LPR in the finale of that stage. urrrgh.
Anyway, hopefully tomorrow will be a good one for that manx sprinter.0 -
Great stage made even greater by the fact that some top GC guys were in there battling for a stage that most expected to go to the guys like Bettini. Ricco was very impressive. I really thought Rodriguez had it there too but he just hit a wall only 50 meters from the finish. Just 150+ feet to go and his body collaped. Wow.
Really too bad about Zabriskie though. I hope he recovers soon.
So far, looking like another fantastic Giro!!0 -
I thought it was an awesome attempt by Rodriguez, he just went 100mtrs too soon.
I hope this encourages more brave attacks in the next weeks.
BTW anyone know if there is any live video streaming coverage? I found some last year, but have lost the link.0 -

try www.cyclingfans.com , lots of links for live video0 -
Soler losing time reminds me of the old Kelme climbers like Escartin, who just seem to have such poor bunch riding skills that they're not in a position at the foot of the final climb to be able to compete.
Also Barloworld seemed to be riding for Gasparotto yesterday. Presumably they think he's a better bet for a stage win and some pink this week.0
