Struggling to make a decision.............

Originally I wanted a Bianchi Via Nirone as my new bike. I have been told that to get one as I would like might take a while. So that has left me with the decision between a Specialized Roubaix Elite and a Trek 1.9.
With the Roubaix I probably would have to change the wheels and possibly the brake calipers from standard unbranded to 105 or similar. Where as the Trek 1.9 is full Ultegra with Bontrager Race wheels, which by all accounts are pretty good, but with an aluminium frame.
Im swinging from one bike to the other and its affecting my sleep.
What the hell do I do? Anybody else with the same dilemma?

you're also just down the road from Ribble, they could build you a carbon/105 bike for that kind of money I suspect.
Or nip up to Staveley near Kendal and try out Cannondale/Willier/Trek at Wheelbase....?
Or nip to BuyaBike and see if you can do a deal on a carbon Trek...?
You need start trying some of them, as that should help you decide.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
Done all that, but Im limited through the company cycle2work scheme. £1000 limit to stick to. I know the Roubaix is £1099 but the shop are willing to accept a cash top up. That particular bike shop have nothing else in around that price range for me to buy. Ive been to Wheelbase where I test rode the Trek and Ive been to Ribble but cant convince Halfords to deal with them on a new bike!!0

Could you not get a Via Nirone mail order through Evans cycles?
I think they support the cycle2work scheme, but I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to that scheme.0 -
Halfords wont tell me who their dealers is for Bianchi, just that a Via Nirone carbon/alu Ultegra compact in Celeste will take a long to time to arrive!!0

I would go for the Roubaix, great bike I've got one. You can easily change the brakes for 105 for about £35. As for the wheels, you can always by a much better set further down the line and keep the others as winter\commuting wheels.0

Have you tried a different branch - maybe worth a try. It may just be that your branch can't be bothered or make less margin on the Bianchi.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0
