anyone know owt about TV's ?

just got home from a week away with work to find that my tele has developed a bit of a fault. there are 2 wide yellow bands runing down the screen on the left hand side.

it doesnt make the biggest difference and i can still watch the box, it is only under certain circumstances that the colour seems affected. but it is beginning to annoy me.

does anyone know what might be wrong and if it might be fixable?

it is a philips lcd summat or other.

    If the tv is in warranty I'd take it back, doesn't sound good. If it was a crt then I'd think it was either magnetic interference or the tube on it's way out but I don't think lcd's are affected in the same way.

    you got any speakers near them mate, or items that might be magnetic, wife rea arrange the room?

    no, unfortunately, the tv is exactly as i left it and works ok apart from the 2 yellowy stripes.

    im trying my best not to just go and buy a new one, i will see about getting it fixed :D
