Has Summer arrived at last?

Yesterday I had my first ride of the year with shorts and a short sleeved jersey. However I was still cautious enough to wear shoes and socks (the socks get discarded soon). However, this afternoon the memsahib and I hammered up the A6 to Bakewell so she could buy some embroidery supplies and we returned home 'over the tops' via Elton and all hilly points South to Ambergate. We both wore our Shimano sandals for full foot aeration :) - therefore it must be Summer.

The short stop at the Bear Inn for a pint of Bass each made the final climb up to the village a breeze. Unfortunately, it'll still be pale legs in the Spanish sun in a week's time.

They certainly do. They're standard SPD compatible and we love 'em for Summer touring. I think I've seen them on Ribble's web site.

    Similar to relayer.

Rode Edinburgh to New Lanark on Thursday in shorts and short sleeves in the morning and my arms got a bit wet.

This afternoon it has been slashing with rain up in Edinburgh.

Hopefull ythat wasn't all we will see of summer

Hot and sunny all week :D Loads of cycling done, over 150 miles for the first time, helped by being on early shifts all week and finished work by 1pm

It has been glorious here for well over a week . Early morning rides nearly every day in shorts and short sleeve tops.

Did 50 miles around the Vale of Belvior yesterday and eventhough I lived in this area for 30 odd years could not stop saying to myself (does any one else do that? ) how lovely it was. I set out at 05.00 so for the first couple of hours I didn't see a single car.

Then sausage bacon and eggs all cooked on the BBQ

So yes summer has arrived for me. :D

Yeah I think it has! I got lucky and booked the week off, managed to go out everyday apart from 2 and racked up 308 miles in the sunny suffolk countryside.
