These forks came on my scott voltage, but they have never felt quite right. Firstly the first few mm of travel (3/4mm or so) felles like there is no spring because you can lift the front wheel off the ground and the forks will sit compressed 3/4 mm with the wheel in the air! It is like the spring isn't long enough! Secondly, the forks clunk quite badly when they go from compression to rebound. I'm not too hot on forks so any help would be appreciated. I understand some marzocchi DJs are inherently rubbish, but these are the same fork as my 2006 DJ3s which felt MUCH better. I was thinking of stripping them, making sure everything was good then putting them back together... What are peoples' thoughts?

what air pressure do you run in them?

    have you read the manual?

about 8 psi. Seems perfect as they don't bottom out ever but they are soft enough to absorb bumps. The bike didn't come with a manual (Scott suppliers are a bit rubbish - long story). My 06 manual for the dj3s is pretty poor, but it does say between 0 and 15 psi. there is no workshop manual section.

id run at least 10 maybe even 12 psi i have the 07 dj3's the knocking is a problem all the marzochi forks seem to have, you could always invest in a longer spring see what happens if its stops the clunking on take of could you tell me aswell, i may concider this.
Lost in my own mind, slowly loosing control of what I once was.
