I'm juggling at the thought of buying this one to replace my stolen rig but I've not seen any reviews upon it

Accoding to MTBR , the american versions seem to have fork and shock issues ?
Is this true or are they just put off by its looks?

I read that there have been issues, but most of these had been ironed out on the 2008 version. There was mention of it in a recent issue of WMB,in an interview with one of Specialized`s product managers.

    Do you really need a 6 " travel bike,though?

My mate has an older Enduro, and even he says,he is often lugging around a lot of extra weight, for the few occasions he actually gets to use it.

So the enduro is a heavy beast ? My local evans are pitching to me that it'll be lighther than the cdale prophet family and it will be a superior hill climber

not convinced about speshs own forks and shocks, have heard about issues, but at least it doesn't have that brain crap... Tyre clearance is poor, also the triple crown fork knocks againt the frame.. Its not meant to be that heavy considering the kind of bike.

what riding you do? what about somehting like the EX8, Meta or Zesty

There have been suspension issues, now sorted - but the rear shock & fork have a five year guarentee to back any issues up.

I have one & I think it's brilliant. But no matter what happens, you will get a load of people on here recomending their own bike.

Have'nt had a single problem through the winter with the tyre clearance and as regards the weight, it's simply not a heavy bike.

All I would say is go to a few bike shops & have a chat & a sit / ride on the ones you fancy & don't necessarily take everyones opinion (including my own) on here as gospel.

Enjoy choosing - it's one of the best feelings in life !!

test rode and enduro vs my stumpy fsr when i was buying last year 07 models. enduro was nice a bit heavier but solid and very light for 6" but it just felt a little to tall and i went for the stumpy.

but for a bigger rider than i it would be pretty sweet i think!

well for one thing the P2 has a great front fork but a low end rear shock . and the P1 has a great rear shock but not as solid front fork (qr instead of maxle) kind of a catch 22 situation here with both of them . If i get one , I'll have to splurch out another 300 to get it back to my original spec

I have the Expert and absolutely love it! Unfortunately,I've had a shock replaced already and I'll probably take it back to have the forks looked at, as there's oil weeping from the bottom of one of the legs.

I went about things the wrong way, as I knew I wanted one as soon as I saw them last year. What put me off at the time was the triple clamp forks and the issues the 07 bikes had. Since I got mine in February I've ridden a Stumpy (with a "Brain", horrible!), a Commencal (twitchy, harsh - no likey!), a Yeti 575 (nice, back didn't feel like it was working, but obviously was, looking at the O-ring on the shock) and a Trek Fuel EX8 (OK-ish).

The Enduro appears to be my ideal "do it all" bike. Light enough (sub 30lb) to climb surprisingly well, easy to adjust geometry and enough travel to eat most of what you throw at it.

Did I say I loved it  !

i've decided . After speaking to at least 3 evan stores who staff members have tried and kept the bike, they've derided it saying it is too "young" with its technology to be trusted and i've finally selected the MK2 Prophet which is a combination of money for value and well proven parts o well have to save up for a new shock then. Do the 08 prophets use 07 or 08 juicys?
