One of the naughty 23?

I'd expect Millar to be up their in the chronos, like at the Vuelta.
However, he was doing some strong work for Mayo when Mayo was still in GC contention. That was my focus.0 -

"Millar le meilleur de mouille. That basically sums up my day: 'Millar the best of the wet.' The cloudy weather I have been praying for the last few days arrived about two hours before my time trial start. By the time I started it was raining cats and dogs and it didn't stop until about 15-20mins after I finished, which was nice. I took less than zero risks, my bike was in a vertical position whenever the slightest hint of a change of direction was in order. I took it too easy at the beginning, which is a mistake I've made in time trials more than once of late. This is lack of confidence on my part after my long run of bad form. I will not make this mistake in the last time trial that I can guarantee you, it's all or bust in that one. I've told Txema, my soigneur, to remind me of that before the start. I finished way too fresh and averaged something like 59km/h for the last 10km, which is more stupidity on my part than impressive. Still I suppose it's better than wrecking myself for nothing, and it's definitely better than sitting here writing this bandaged and bruised as many guys are."
The tt after the rest day is not that dissimilar to that one in the tour last year

It involves climbing but not a huge amount. The climbs may well be steeper in the giro stage though. I think that after today's efforts Millar will now be trying to take it easy to get himself in the best shape for this.0
