hi every body,
thinkinh about getting a new stem, a shorter one. i think i need it cos i feel like to mutch of my weight is over the front wheel. (is this right) going down hill it can feel a bit slow at th moment.
just got the stock, Specialized 3D forged alloy w/ graphic, four bolt clamp, 7 degree rise, my rockhopper 08
any ideas on what to get?

What length have you got? (Measure centre of top cap to centre of bar clamp).
You don't really want to go any short than 70mm so if you already have that, see if you have any spacers above the stem or try a higher rise stem.
On a side note, as long as your hands aren't going numb a bit of weight over the front isn't an issue, I mean it's an XC bike and trying to get all your weight back and make the steering over snappy could just ruin it!0 -
i couldent tell you as my bike is back home and i am in uni, all the website says is Specialized 3D forged alloy w/ graphic, four bolt clamp, 7 degree rise.
dose any body know the lenghth?
mabey a higher rise stem would be better, how will this change the riding position and how it feels?Specailized Enduro 08 - Beast

Higher rise will put you more upright with less weight on the bars.0

Im pretty sure on a Rockhopper it will be 90 or 100 - it is an XC bike after all."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0
