Hi guys I've got the X3's which I adore but I have to buy a new set every year coz they wear out (get all wobbly). Is this normal and wear can I get them cheap. Thanks

  • how many miles are you getting out of them? and how regularly do you grease them?

i have both X5s and X3s and so far the X5s have got 4500 miles on them and they're still fine (regreased twice) and the X3's have 2500 miles on them and they're ok too (regreased once)

    They are fragile though.

In answer to your question - ebay. Particularly ebay US. I suspect a lot of people buy these pedals becuase they look cool and are light. However, the initial feeling that you are going to break your ankle if you try to sprint isn't for everyone!

I've had several pairs and the problem is always the bearing closest to the cranks.

The X5's are a waste of time - they only have bushings in that position. They ought to be bomb proof therefore, but somehow both of mine were loose within months. And I did grease them.

The others are much better, but again, the needle bearings are more problematic than they should be. Its a shame because other than that they are pretty much the perfect pedal.
