Which bibshorts have the best padding?

For long rides which are the best? I've just read a review in C+ which rates Castelli's Free bibs and De Marchi's Contour Evolution. No review of any Assos shorts which is surprising given that these shorts are just as expensive as Assos.
My rear is still aching from a long ride yesterday in cheap shorts and a firm saddle (Specialised Toupe). It may be the saddle but i'd like some decent quality padding as well.

FWIW I'd reckon Assos for the pad, Rapha for the shorts. Just my 2 cents.0

I've had DeMarchi Contour plus , Cannondale, and Santini Twist Gel.
The Assos (Uno in my case), are far and away the best, with the Contour Plus a clear second ahead of the others.
I bought the Assos shorts when they were on offer with Ribble. My only regret is that I'm unlikely to settle for anything less now!0 -

What's a long ride?
80miles on the road bike or upto 6hrs on the mountain bike I am fine in DHB Earnley bib shorts (wiggle).0 -
Assos. No question. I can guarantee that once you've tried them you won't consider any other brand0

I tend to buy top of the line shorts that I find on sale and have used many different brand
names(Pearl, Santini, Assos, Adidas). For the most part, at least for myself, I really
have not found a lot of difference in comfort levels between them, but that may be
just me.

Upwards of 2 hours for me. I have a pair of DHB shorts (not bibs) - they are the ones i'm complaining about. The saddle may well have something to do with it although i was measured for it.0 -
|Try Giordana Tenax. I have two pairs and rate them highly. I also rate Specialized saddles as being very comfortable. You may just need to get use to riding for prolonged periods. Shifting posture also helps as does getting out of the saddle every few mileshttps://www.bikeauthority.cc/

My Club Bib Shorts are made by TAL / Endura. Their pad has Gel inserts and is the most comfy I've ever used.

I too have been trying a Spec Toupe saddle recently but have found it too firm and gone back to my old spec sadddle, not sure of the model, probably no longer made, but very comfortable. i would agree with others on here that Assos Pads are excellent but still made the Toupe uncomfortable for me.0

Campagnolo Team Factory Bibshorts 2007.
Managed to pick em up at a fraction of the price in the LBS earlier this year, and glad I did. Exceptionally comfortable and well fitting. Theres a few websites selling them for cheap at the moment too."A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

If you can get hold of some Impsport bib shorts I am sure you will be amazed how comfy they are.. Well my bum thinks so atleast..0

Assos all the way for me. Their inserts are amazingly good ..... don't worry about C+ not reviewing them, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, or perhaps they are waiting for the new F1.13 S5s, who knows, but believe me and loads of other riders on here, they're good!0
