Hello!
We are a group of 3 experience mtb'rs looking to ride the Pennine Bridleway starting at the southern end (Middleton Top), taking in the Mary Townley Loop and hoping to end up in Settle, before finally heading back home to Halifax. Hoping to do it over 4 days, staying at camp sites/hostels.

Has anyone done this route? If so, did you plan your own route up to Settle after you'd done the MTL? Is the northern end of PBW open yet? I have emailed the National Trail folk but no reply as yet so any advice appreciated.

Cheers
Gav

You'll be lucky to get a reply, I e-mail them regularly just for nuisance value and NEVER get a reply, never have done. The best thing to do is to subscribe to the newsletter.

As far as I am aware the Northern section isn't yet open, it's scheduled for August this year IIRC but as you say information is very difficult to get hold of.

I hope that you're fit lads if you're going to do it in four days!

    Hi,

I've not ridden that far up but the best people to contact are Natural England who are responsible for various aspects of the Pennine Bridleway including promoting it for recreational use.

And as it says on their website "The team should be able to answer most enquiries immediately but will transfer you to appropriate colleagues for help with more technical or specialist enquiries"

    Good luck
